1 John 4:6
Memory Verse
We are out from God. The one who knows God hears us. Whosoever is not out from God does not hear us. Out from this, we know the spirit of truth and the spirit of error (1 John 4:6).
There are many antichrists that walk among us. They masquerade as ministers of righteousness (2 Corinthians 11:15). They are popular in the world because, since they are out from the world, the world hears them (1 John 4:5). These are the ones who deny that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh. They reject the truth of the trinity and the deity of Jesus (2 John 7).
The term Antichrist is used only by the Apostle John in his first and second letters. In 1 John 2:18, John writes that many antichrists have already come. These come out from the Church, but are not those who belong to the Church. They deny Jesus Christ, and thereby, deny the Father (1 John 2:22).
Those opposed to Christ will not listen to the truth. When their argument is revealed to be false, instead of correcting their belief, they come up with another excuse or shift to another verse to justify their doctrine. Although it can be difficult for Christians who have been taught by these false teachers to comprehend the truth, they have the indwelling Holy Spirit, who will bring it to light in their minds. Those who are not out from the Church will never come to an understanding of the truth, for they will not listen to the truth. These are the spirits of error, sent to cause the saints to wander from the truth.
Great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifested in the flesh, justified by the Spirit, discerned by angels, proclaimed among the Gentiles, believed on in the world, and received up into glory (1 Timothy 3:16).
