Now I encourage you, brethren, admonish the disorderly, console the little-souled, cling fast the weak, be long-suffering towards all, 1 Thessalonians 5:14
With all the saints, let us withhold our anger toward those who are unreasonable. We are to care enough for one another to firmly reprimand those who walk in a disorderly manner. These are the ones who reject the traditions received from Paul, refusing to work and instead becoming busybodies (2 Thessalonians 3:6, 11). Anyone among the saints who is unwilling to work is not to eat with the saints, nor be provided for by the assembly. Rather, such a one is to work with his own hands so that he may be able to give when another is in need.
We are to console—speaking gently or soothingly in close proximity in a personal and empathetic manner—the little-souled. These are the men and women who are not strong in their emotions, easily discouraged, and lacking confidence.
The saints among us who are sickly—let us be devoted to their care, clinging to them with spiritual loyalty.
