See that no one repays wrong with wrong, but always pursue good even unto one another and unto all, 1 Thessalonians 5:15.
When we suffer wrong, whether from fellow saints or from those outside the Church, we are not to repay wrong with wrong. Our pursuit should be directed toward doing what is beneficial, thereby seeking to overcome wrong with good (Romans 12:21). This does not mean that we will not hold others accountable for their actions, for failing to do so would itself be rendering wrong for wrong, as it shows no true desire for their good. Nor does it imply that we must allow others to walk all over us. Rather, it means we are not to retaliate in kind.
