Worship without ceasing, 1 Thessalonians 5:17.
Worship is communication directed to God, in which we repeat back to God what He has declared about Himself, ascribing the whole weight of a proper opinion of Who He is.
In Revelation 4:10–11, the twenty-four elders—representing the Church after the rapture—fall down before the One seated on the throne and worship the One who lives into the ages of the ages. They cast their victor’s wreaths before the throne, saying, ‘You are worthy, O Lord and our God, to receive glory (a proper opinion), honor, and inherent ability, for You created all things, and by Your desirous will they exist and were created.’
There are eight distinct ways in which the grace believer communicates with God. Worship is the primary means of communication, surpassed only by thanksgiving, and it is typically the starting point because it aligns the mind with truth, ensuring that all other forms of communication are offered in a proper manner.
Be anxious in nothing, but in everything with worship and supplication, after thanksgiving, let your requests be made known towards God, Philippians 4:6.
As we learn about and understand who God is, worship becomes an integral part of our daily lives, continually bringing to mind what He has done and who He is, so that we are constantly giving proper credit to Him (Romans 1:9; 1 Thessalonians 1:3; 2:13).
