Therefore then let us not sleep as the remaining, but watch and be sober (1 Thessalonians 5:6).
This time of unrighteousness in which we live is quickly coming to an end. We are in the last days of the Church on earth and of the reign of the Gentiles. In the book of Revelation, we are given prophecy concerning the seven periods of the Church on earth (Revelation 2:1–3:22). Through this understanding, we can properly discern that we are in the period of the Laodicean assembly—an assembly that values money over doctrine (Revelation 3:17). This is the final of the seven seasons of the Church on earth.
Those who sleep do not pay attention to the signs of the times. Let us be sober-minded and cast off the works of darkness as we look with anticipation for our happy hope—the call of our Lord to meet Him in the air.
