And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifested in flesh, justified by the Spirit, seen by angels, proclaimed among the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up in glory (1 Timothy 3:16).
As a matter of general agreement, Jesus, the Son of God, walked this earth. Some of our English translations leave out the word God; however, the original letter contains it. It is in fact God who was manifested in the flesh. Christ, who being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God—for He is God (Philippians 2:5–6).
In these last days, God has spoken to us by a Son, whom He appointed heir of all things, through whom the ages were made—so we know this Son is not created, for He is the One who created all things (Hebrews 1:2; Colossians 1:16). He is the exact character of God the Father, for He came do to His will (Hebrews 1:3; 10:9).
God wrapped Himself in flesh, died on behalf of our sins to redeem us from our perversity (sin nature), trespasses, and sins. He was then raised on the third day, declaring without controversy that we are justified before God through faith in Him (Romans 4:25–5:2; 1 Corinthians 15:3–4).
It truly did happen! Therefore, all who believe in His death on behalf of sins and His resurrection three days later will be saved—just as assuredly as He came in the flesh.
