And even if our gospel is hidden, it is hidden among those who are perishing, among whom the god of this age has blinded the conclusions of the mind of the unbelievers for the purpose that the light of the gospel of the proper opinion of the Christ, Who is the image of the God, should not shine to them (2 Corinthians 4:3–4)
Accurately declaring the gospel message is of utmost importance. “Christ died on behalf of our sins, according to the Scriptures, and was raised on the third day, according to the Scriptures” is the only message that has the inherent ability to save (Romans 1:16). When we have an opportunity to give a defense for the hope that we have, let us do it with respect and objectivity of mind. Our purpose is not to convince people to believe the gospel by using persuasive words, but to speak the truth. It is the Holy Spirit Who convinces an unbeliever to change their mind—not the gimmicks of men.
