and put on the new, the one being renewed unto a full experiential knowledge according to the image of the One who created him, (Colossians 3:10).
We are no longer in Adam. Through the washing of regeneration and renewal the Holy Spirit has immersed us into the Christ, thereby wrapping us in a new man. Now that we are part of a new creation, in which Christ is the head and the Church is His body, even though our outward bodies are perishing, we can be renewed each day in the inward man—the new man in Christ.
This renewal occurs as we experience the new man by living out who we are in Christ. Each step, each day, brings new opportunities to experientially know this new man, who is created in righteousness and piety of the truth. In doing so, we cast off the old and learn to walk in the righteousness we have in Christ.
