Let the word of the Christ dwell in you richly, in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing yourselves with psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to God (Colossians 3:16).
The word of the Christ concerns the body of Christ—the new creation God made when He raised Christ from the dead (2 Corinthians 5:17). Therefore, all who are in the Christ are part of one body (1 Corinthians 12:12–13). As members of one body, we share equality; each one has been placed as a son and a priest (Ephesians 1:5; 1 Peter 2:9). There is no separation between the clergy and the people, for such a separation reflects the doctrine of the Nicolaitans—a doctrine that our Lord is indifferent towards (Revelation 2:15).
When the word of the Christ dwells in us richly, we will seek the best for other saints, for in doing so we are expressing our love for God.
