through all worshiping and supplicating, while worshiping at all time in spirit, and unto this same thing being alert in all steadfastness and supplication on behalf of all the saints (Ephesians 6:18).
Now that we have put on the full armor of God, we are to stand firm. A good soldier knows how to use his armor to protect himself. Each piece of the armor is designed to work in harmony with the others, providing a complete defense against all the methods Satan employs to persuade us to act independently from God, to discourage us, cause disappointment or bitterness, and use any other means to hinder us from living out the life we now have in Christ. Although we have reviewed specific methods that each piece of armor is effective against, do not hesitate to use other parts in conjunction with them. For example, in dealing with doubt, the shield of faith is the primary defense; however, the sword of the Spirit, the helmet of salvation, and the breastplate of righteousness are also highly effective. Let us learn to use our tools well so that we may wrestle effectively, knowing that in Christ, we are already victorious over Satan.
Remember, the authority of the Church over demons is to stand firm, so that we are not persuaded by their teachings to stray from the truth.
