O foolish Galatians, who has bewitched you not to obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ was publicly displayed among you as crucified? This only I desire to learn from you, out from works of the law did you receive the Spirit, or out from hearing of faith? (Galatians 3:1–2).
he Christian life is not founded upon grace through faith only to be maintained by law. There are many who will attempt to bring in harmful heresies involving living by law within the local church, seeking to persuade men to follow them.
Our commandment is to love one another—fellow grace believers—as Christ loved us, not to be obedient to a law that Christ Himself nailed to the cross to free us. We are free to live out righteousness by faith, for law does not produce righteousness because it is not out from faith. As we live out who we are in Christ, we do not need law, because love does not violate any law.
