Galatians 3:24
Memory Verse
Wherefore, the law became our child-trainer unto Christ, in order that out from faith we should be justified (Galatians 3:24).
The Mosaic Law was not given as a means of attaining righteousness before God. Law is not out from faith, yet, those who are righteous live out from faith (Galatians 3:12; Romans 1:17). The law was not made for a righteous person (1 Timothy 1:9). Its purpose was to demonstrate that, apart from justification through faith, we cannot be righteous before God. Therefore, now that faith in Christ has come, the Law is no longer our child-trainer (Galatians 3:25).
A life of faith is based upon taking God at His word (Hebrews 11:1). In Christ we have been raised to walk in newness of life (Romans 6:4). Therefore, those in the Church mature through training their senses (perceptions) to know right from wrong by using the new mind they possess in Christ—one that is able to discern Spiritual things—to test for approval each situation and determine what is the desirous will of God (Hebrews 5:14; Romans 12:2).
