Galatians 3:25
Memory Verse
But after faith has come, we are no longer under a child-trainer (Galatians 3:25).
Israel was kept under guard by the law until faith in Christ should come (Galatians 3:23). Righteousness does not come through law, for the just live out from faith and the law is not out from faith (Romans 1:17; Galatians 3:12).
Those who are in Christ—the new man created by God in righteousness and piety of the truth—are placed as sons. This is a position of maturity that no longer requires governors and stewards to dictate every aspect of a person’s life. The law exposed our sin nature—the corrupt nature we possess in our flesh—for just how truly sinful it is (Romans 7:13), for the sin nature uses law to deceive and gain control over a man (1 Corinthians 15:56).
In Christ, we are now righteous before God. Since the law is not for a righteous man (1 Timothy 1:9), we who are righteous in Christ live out from faith by applying the grace God gives us as we train our senses to discern what is proper from what is wrong so that in every aspect of our lives we are doing the desirous will of God (Hebrews 5:14; Romans 12:2).
