Galatians 3:27
Memory Verse
For as many as have been immersed into Christ, have put on Christ, Galatians 3:27.
At salvation, the Holy Spirit immerses the believer into the body of the Christ, removing the condemnation from Adam and freeing him to walk in newness of life (1 Corinthians 12:12–13; Romans 8:1; Romans 6:4).
Putting on Christ involves the mental process of framing the mind on the things above and thus acting in a manner that represents who you are in Christ. We are now clothed with Christ; therefore, God deals with us as those who have died with Christ and are raised to walk in newness of life.
This frame of the mind refers to the boundaries we set within our minds concerning how we perceive ourselves. When we frame our minds on the flesh, we produce works unto death (Romans 8:6). However, we are not of the flesh; therefore, our minds are to be set on the things of the Spirit so that we are producing life and peace (Romans 8:6).
