Genesis 6:1–2
Memory Verse
And it came to pass that man began to multiply upon the face of the earth, and daughters were born to them. And the sons of the God saw the daughters of man, that they were beautiful, and they took to themselves women, all of whom they chose (Genesis 6:1–2).
In the Garden of Eden after Adam’s trespass and sin, God passed judgment upon them. This judgment included the serpent and the one behind it, Lucifer. He promised that the seed of the woman would crush Lucifer’s head (Genesis 3:15). The sons of God, who are angels, who followed Satan, now see an opportunity to corrupt the seed of the woman by taking on the form of men and using the women of man to produce mutants.
The book of Job explains who the sons of God are. In Job chapter one verse six, the sons of God present themselves before Him in the third heaven. Among them are the fallen ones, who followed Lucifer in his rebellion against God as he attempted to place his throne in the third heaven with God (Isaiah 14:13; Revelation 12:4). These demons (fallen angels) who took wives from the daughters of men abandoned their first estate, adopting the form of a human and residing upon the earth to corrupt the seed of the woman, thus seeking to thwart God’s judgment (Jude 6).
