This is the genealogy of Noah. Noah was a just man, complete in his generations. Noah walked with God (Genesis 6:9).

In a time when humans rejected God and all the formations of the intents of their hearts were to do wrong, one man chose to seek out God. Noah sought God out from faith, for without faith it is impossible to please God. As Hebrews 11:6 notes, God promised that those who sought Him would find Him, and He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

While others of Noah’s generation chose to pervert their flesh, he remained fully human. Because of this, he was found to be complete in God’s sight. Furthermore, his choice not to follow the corruption of his generation also impacted his sons and their wives. As a result, God reserved the human race through the line of Noah.
