Genesis 7:23–24
Memory Verse
And He destroyed all the living things which were upon the face of the earth, from man to cattle, to birds of the heavens. And they were destroyed from the earth, and only Noah and those with him in the ark remained. And the waters prevailed on the earth one hundred and fifty days, Genesis 7:23–24.
The world that was, along with all of its corruption, was destroyed. God annihilated all of those who had corrupted their flesh by mixing with the demons: men, animals, and birds. The first world system that Satan developed to control the sin nature of man was also obliterated. This system, along with his methodologies, was used to manipulate fallen men into following Satan’s path of independence from God.
After the springs of the deep opened, and the ice dome that covered the earth fell, the waters remained above the mountains for one hundred and fifty days. These are not the mountains as we know them today, but rather, relative to a fairly flat earth. Thus, the waters rose to about 25 feet above the land (Genesis 7:20). This ensured that any living thing that survived the initial flood was still destroyed.
The corruption that was upon this earth is still evident in the fossil record. When taken honestly, apart from imposing the disproven theory of evolution, the age, placement, and type of bones that remain give evidence of the adulteration of all flesh: man, cattle, and birds of the air.
