Hebrews 1:7-8
Memory Verse
And indeed, facing the angels He says, “The one who makes His angels spirits and His ministers a flame of fire.” But facing the Son, “Your throne, the God, into the ages of the ages. And the scepter of uprightness is the scepter of your kingdom.” (Hebrews 1:7–8)
The angels are spirits who are the Lord’s ministers, not those who are begotten as a son. The Son, who is God, is not born from God the Father. The Son’s deity is clearly stated in this passage. He is the second person of the Godhead who came in the flesh. As a son, he will rule over the nations. His scepter is a scepter of uprightness, for within His kingdom righteousness will rule.
The Son will send out His angels to gather out of His kingdom all who scandalize and practice lawlessness (Matthew 13:41). He will judge the people with uprightness–in integrity and fairness (Psalm 9:6; 96:10).
