Hebrews 2:16
Memory Verse
For surely, He does not grasp hold of angels, but He grasps hold of the seed of Abraham (Hebrews 2:16).
God is not offering salvation for the angels who fell with Lucifer. Many of these fallen angels are now in the abyss, being held in the gloom of darkness until the day of their judgment (2 Peter 2:4). These are the ones who left their first estate and went after strange flesh in an attempt to corrupt the seed of the woman (Jude 6). The demons who have not landed themselves in chains because of their egregious actions, rule with Satan in his world system here on earth until Christ returns to setup His kingdom.
However, God does grasp hold of the seed of Abraham. Both Israel and the Church are of the seed of Abraham. They are two different branches from the same root. Abraham’s physical descendants were promised a land on this earth that God will fulfill in the Millennial Kingdom (Genesis 15). Although Israel is in exile because of their sins, God has reserved a remnant that will be saved (Romans 11:5). Israel also has a promise through Abraham of an eternal inheritance on this earth in the new heavens and new earth (Genesis 17). The Church is the seed of Abraham through faith in Christ, who is the seed promised by God to possess the gates of His enemies (Genesis 22:17; Galatians 3:16). These two races never mix (1 Corinthians 10:32).
