Hebrews 2:9
Memory Verse
But we see Jesus, who for a short time was lower than angels, through suffering of death, He was crowned with glory and honor, so that by grace from God, on behalf of all, He should taste death (Hebrews 2:9).
God the Son, not a separate being or God, but One of the Persons of the Godhead—for there is only One God, Deuteronomy 6:4—wrapped Himself in flesh and submitted to the desirous will of God the Father (Philippians 2:5–8). He, being apart from sin, tasted death on behalf of all (Hebrews 9:28). The death that He died, he died once for all for the sin nature, but the life He lives, He lives to God (Romans 6:10).
God the Father raised Christ from the dead, loosing the pains of death, because it was not possible that it should hold Him (Acts 2:24). He was betrayed because of our trespasses and was raised because of our justification (Romans 4:25).
Having received a victor’s wreath, the resurrected and glorified Christ now sits at the right hand of God above the angels (Ephesians 1:20–21).
