Romans 1:24–25
Memory Verse
Wherefore, God handed them over in the desires of their hearts unto uncleanliness to dishonor their bodies among themselves, whoever exchanged the truth of the God with the lie, and reverenced for themselves and rendered religious service to the creation rather than the Creator, Who is well spoken of into the ages, Amen. Romans 1:24–25.
A manifestation of a quality of God’s wrath is manifested today on all those who do unrighteousness, ungodliness, and suppress the truth in unrighteousness. Those who reject the clear evidence of a Creator in creation, God permits them to follow their own path of corruption to fill up their judgment to the full.
These men and women change the image of God into that of corruptible man, beast, birds, and even crawling things. This type of behavior is not only seen in false religions, but many assemblies claiming to be Christian have changed the Scriptural and Godly opinion of both Christ and God to justify their corrupt beliefs. These are the assemblies that worship idols (Catholics and those like them), who change Christ into a created being (Mormons, Jehovah’s Witnesses, and the like), declaring that God is love and therefore will accept you as you are, while rejecting His holiness and righteousness, along with all who permit and glorify sin in their assemblies. Therefore, God hands them over to the desires of their hearts to dishonor their own bodies.
Those who live a life of corruption, doing wrong, and enjoying ill-gotten gains are not successful; rather, God is not showing them mercy by allowing them to go their own way. They will all stand before the judgment seat and answer for their works (Revelation 20:11–12).
Those who reject a proper opinion of God exchange the truth for the lie. The lie is independence from God, and Satan is the father of it (John 8:44). Lucifer chose to reject His placement by God when he ruled the universe from Eden in the rock garden God created for him (Ezekiel 28:13). He determined that he would be like God and attempted to set his throne in the place where God resides (Isaiah 14:13–14). In the same manner, men who reject God seek to follow their own paths and set themselves up as gods. The result of the rejection of truth is manifested in the corruption of their own bodies in sexual perversion and render religious service to creation rather than the Creator.
