Romans 1:32
Memory Verse
Whoever fully experientially knew the ordinance of God; that the ones practicing such things are worthy of death, not only those who are practicing these things, but also the ones approving towards the ones practicing (Romans 1:32).
God wiped out the first world system with a worldwide flood due to the wickedness of humans. They had rejected doing what was beneficial in favor of doing wrong. Every formation of the heart was continually following after what was wrong (Genesis 6:5). The whole world at that time was filled with violence (Genesis 6:11). The world was filled with a type of violence that uses others’ missteps to gain an advantage over them. Even their flesh was corrupted (Genesis 6:12).
While Noah built the ark to save eight souls from coming judgment, he also preached righteousness to those in the first world who had rejected good (2 Peter 2:5). Instead of responding to the truth, they ate, drank, and married as if nothing would change. They continued this until the day Noah entered the ark (Luke 17:27).
Within one hundred years of the flood, the descendants of those eight souls and their fathers rejected God’s word. They created their own gods and refused to recognize the knowledge of the One true God (Romans 1:23). They built a tower to worship creation and to try to avoid the judgment from God, which they knew would come upon those doing such unrighteousness.
Even today, a quality of God’s wrath is present against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men (Romans 1:18). In the past, God would bring severe judgment on those persisting in sin. Now, we live in a time when God is reconciling the world to Himself through Christ (2 Corinthians 5:19). How much more will those who reject reconciliation face the full consequences for their actions than those already judged by God? In their rejection, God allows them to follow their corrupt paths, committing disgraceful acts and receiving just rewards in their bodies (Romans 1:27).
