Romans 2:3
Memory Verse
And do you reckon this, O man, the one judging those practicing these things, and doing the same things that you will escape from the judgment of God? Romans 2:3.
Paul explains that the judgment of God is against those who practice unrighteousness and sin (Romans 2:2). This also includes those who approve of such actions, as noted earlier (Romans 1:32). Therefore, a person who commits these wrongs while judging others for the same brings even greater judgment upon himself.
Paul uses a word for thinking here that implies attempting to justify unrighteous behavior using reasoning or logic to escape judgment. A man should not be so arrogant as to believe he can judge others for wrongdoing while excusing himself for doing the same. By such reasoning, he mistakenly assumes he can escape judgment for his actions. However, God is not mocked; a man reaps what he sows (Galatians 6:7).
